Introduction to cane weaving
In this workshop, I invite you to discover cane weaving by creating your own coaster.
It all begins with selecting the color of your base: this first step adds an elegant, personal touch to your creation. I will then introduce you to different types of cane weaving. You will learn to identify and prepare cane strips from the rattan palm before starting the weaving process.
Next, it’s your turn! I guide you step by step as you weave the cane through the base, showing you how to align, tension, and knot the strands with precision.
This workshop is the perfect opportunity to explore an ancestral artisanal technique while creating an object that is both practical and decorative, all within a warm and friendly atmosphere that encourages creativity and exchange.
